21 Feb '21 - From his prison cell as his execution approaches, Paul delivers one final charge to Timothy: preach the word. 'The word' is the word of life and immortality. It is 'the word of the truth’, the promise of life in Christ Jesus, risen from the dead. Despite the urgent need for this word, it will always be opposed by people who wish to pursue their own desires rather than submit to God. Timothy will need firm resolve to pursue the charge.
