Ramez was born in Cairo, Egypt and emigrated with his family to Canada when he was sixteen. He ministered with IFES from 1972-1990 in Quebec and Egypt. He served on the Lausanne Committee from 1975-1994 and again from 2006-2015. He was Program Chairman for the Cape Town 2010 Lausanne Congress. Since 1990 he has been the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Egypt. Rebecca was born of missionary parents in Haiti. She met and married Ramez at university in Montreal. In 1980 they moved with their 2 small children to Egypt where Rebecca began her ministry at the Mokattam Garbage Village. She eventually helped in establishing the Center of Love for Special Needs there, where she continues in active ministry. Rebecca also heads up a weekly Sudanese refugee assistance program at her local church, and chairs the board of the Sudanese Displaced Children’s Learning Center.
