The prophet Ezekiel lived through the oppressive rule of the last four kings of Jerusalem. They thought they could do what they liked to their people and get away with it. But those people belonged to God and in 586BC he held the shepherds to account. Ezekiel offers a better leader—God will be their shepherd personally.
