The story of all stories

Written into nature

Obscured by the furniture

Lies a story unable to be deleted from the history books

But no villain can kill It’s echoing still

We write our own path within the parameters,

And we wrote in death, disease and the need for the ambulance

Placed, purposely for perfection

Mankind chose negation rather than to live as designed creation

Through disobedience and rejection, and sullen introspection

We've turned from light and life,

We've chosen fire and strife,

No longer able to dwell with brightness

Like sheep gone astray we've turned from God's way

We've gone off script - created our own devilish ditch

But    the    Author

He wrote Himself in when He could have written off humanity

Like a root out of dry ground, a tender shoot He grew up

One mission in His mind to save mankind

All who are weary, abandoned, despised,

Broken, neglected, hard done by and hopeless

These are the characters Christ had in focus All who admit to their faults and come humbly

He swoops down from heaven and aims for that one tree

Up the hill

Too weak to carry His own cross

Too meek to ascend to heaven without gathering the lost

The carpenter’s hands outstretched to the world He once carved

His body now starved

Disfigured and dying the Maker pinned down who had hung up the earth…now crying

We had no time and made no place but He stepped into time and space to take my place, the place that was meant to be mine to face

Broken, mangled, swollen

The ultimate image bearer beaten so badly the image just bears pain with eternal scars But these wounds are from love, healing our wound when we fell from above

The author of life, is now authored to die,

He met us who failed and entered our tale - accepted the thorns and the spear and the nails

He knew how it ended yet still he expended His life like a lamb that was slain

He shouldered the pain as the Father pressed down, that crown of thorns and sin of the world

crushed him as he became an offering for sin

He authored this world’s laws yet put His glory on pause

to die for the sinners cause

The sinners who pierced Him

And then..

He ascends, his labours now finished his sacrifice crowned

The lamb on the throne as the credits roll down

The tale untwisted, the story rewritten

The author turned Hero, to do what we didn’t

To do what we couldn’t, to undo the curse.

Those arms nailed wide span the universe

Stretching beyond all the forces that scatter,

written in scars forever ‘

You matter’

The Hero who dies and rises in glory

The author of life rewriting the story"
