The people becoming Christians, however, weren’t those everyone expected or wanted. In our era of church decline in Europe, we also worry whether this is the message, the strategy and the church that Jesus intended. Luke 13:22 begins a new section in Luke’s gospel addressing exactly these questions: who should we expect to be saved? And who will be excluded?
