Keswick '19 - Evening Celebration Week 3 Day 6: Amy Orr-Ewing
Genesis 22: 1-19. 'The Commitment'. From the series 'Longing for a Promised Future'. Mind the Gap! Many times we experience – and cause – the sin and suffering that marks every Christian life as we live in the gap between receiving God’s promises and the fulfilment of them. Abraham too lived between promise and fulfilment, between the promise of rest in the land and enjoying that rest. But he’s not just an example. He’s part of a true story that climaxes with the life, death, resurrection and future return of Jesus Christ. That storyline has, as perhaps the key momentum-giver and story-shaper, the promises to Abraham in Genesis 12. More than an example, we have a Saviour.
