The Pastor's Heart - From Barefoot Refugee to Archbishop of Rwanda - Laurent Mbunda & Dominic Steele

Archbishop Laurent Mbunda joins us to share his wonderful story; a journey from barefoot refugee in the East African nation of Rwanda to Anglican Archbishop and deputy chair of GAFCON. Laurent Mbunda fled Rwanda, aged five, to a Burundi refugee camp where he and his parents were saved. Then followed a long walk to Kenya, weeks of sleeping on the streets and a miraculous acceptance into university. After university he was a staffworker for Campus Crusade for Christ (American University Christian Unions), before doing a masters and doctorate in the United States and then leading the Compassion International aid work following the 1994 Rwandan massacre. Since then he has done amazing work leading the church in Rwanda which has seen explosive growth and more recently starting an East African Christian University.

Archbishop Mbunda is deputy chair of significant movement within Anglicanism, GAFCON, and in 2020 will host the Anglican Bishops conference in the Rwandan capital Kigali.
