The Apostle Paul started the Corinthian church on one of his missionary journeys recorded in Acts. After moving on Paul received a report that there were big problems which he sought to correct in his first letter. This letter, despite its name, is not the second one he wrote to them, but likely a third. In it he focusses on being reconciled to the Corinthians who had rejected him and his teaching, he addresses forgotten generosity and finally he challenges those people who still stand against him.
