The Bible Project: Luke 10-24 Overview
Luke was a travelling coworker of the Apostle Paul, and this book is Vol. 1 of a two-part unified work completed by the book of Acts. In the opening verses Luke tells us that his book is an orderly account of the things that have been fulfilled. His concern is to show how Jesus fulfills the long-unfolding story of God and Israel and the whole world. In chapters 10-24 Luke turns his attention to Jesus' journey towards Jerusalem. It consists of his teaching and parables given 'on the road' to those he encounters, his arrival in Jerusalem as Passover begins, followed by the events of his death and then resurrection appearances where he says that his kingdom will now move out to the world starting from Jerusalem.
