The Bible Project: Jeremiah Overview
Jeremiah was an Israelite priest who lived and worked in Jerusalem during the final decades of the Kingdom of Southern Judah, before their exile to Bablyon. He was called as a prophet to warn Israel of the severe consequences of breaking their covenant with God through their idolatry and injustice. His words became reality: Jeremiah lived through the siege and destruction of Jerusalem and witnessed the exile personally. This book, put together by Baruch (Chapter 36), is a collection of God's words to Jeremiah presenting a message of God's justice and also his grace.
