Celebrate Recovery - The Prayer of Serenity - Jesmond Parish Church, Newcastle UK
The Prayer for Serenity is prayed at every Celebrate Recovery meeting and many find it very helpful for their recovery. Participants and friends of Celebrate Recovery at Jesmond Parish Church put together this video of this well-known prayer.
Prayer for Serenity by Reinhold Niebuhr
'God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Many people struggle with hurt, worry, addiction, unforgiveness, guilt, shame, relationship issues, and more. Based on eight biblical principles, Celebrate RecoveryCelebrate Recovery's weekly meetings offer support to men and women as they seek freedom from their 'hurts, hang-ups and habits'.
