In Corinth there were those who found Paul's ministry and method unpalatable—there were plenty of other 'brands' on offer. But Paul insists because he has been entrusted with God's message of reconciliation, such a tendency is full of danger. Paul concludes the great defence of his ministry with a warning that: not to be reconciled to God's messenger of reconciliation, who carries God's message of reconciliation, is to risk not being reconciled to God himself. Salvation is at stake.
